Having already worked in conjunction with Thirdway on numerous successful CAT A+ projects for the landlord (GPE) in the building previously, the brief for the 1st floor was based on these. ThirdWay and Tribe were appointed to design and deliver a scheme that made the most of the square floorplate based around the central core and one that would maximise views across The City.
The aim was to create a space with a sense of flow, breaking up the open plan areas and the offices and meeting rooms with an almost symmetrical layout. The rooms could be used as either meeting spaces or private offices, depending on the requirements of an occupier. The use of light tones across the floor finishes aimed to maximise on the windows all around the building, keeping the scheme fresh and neutral and allowing an occupier to put their stamp on the space should they wish.
